Springtime!

It’s been the most beautiful spring in Atlanta this year, with such amazing colors. It all bodes well for the Inman Park Festival coming up this weekend, on April 26 and 27. We are so excited to have been selected again to be part of the juried arts & crafts market at this amazing festival!

Inman Park Festival began more than 50 years ago and celebrates the beautiful neighborhood of Inman Park, one of Atlanta’s oldest residential areas. It’s full of gorgeous houses, splendid parks, and wonderful people, and the festival includes a tour of houses and a fun, quirky parade (which is at 2pm on Saturday 26 April). It’s the largest Atlanta all-volunteer festival, and it’s this community spirit that gives it such a fabulous feel. We’ve been taking part for several years, and we love seeing our regulars, meeting new people, and generally having a great time.

Sadly, only one of the Bledsoe Bags ladies will be able to be there this year. Susan will be running the show, and Margaret will be helping to take care of her daughter’s new tiny Doyle girl, Nina, born a few weeks ago. We’re hoping she’ll be a Bledsoe Bags gal when she’s older!

We’ve been making some fun new backpacks and tote bags and our extra-large overnighter bags, as well as all our smaller bags that come in so handy – Walkabout phone bags, toiletry bag sets, ditties, and card wallets.

Come and say hi on Saturday and Sunday, April 26 and 27! We’d love to see you and show you the bags we’ve been making. We’ll be at booth #116 on Edgewood (the parade goes right past our stall). And we’ll be right next to the wonderful duo of Shards and Shavings, who do stunning fused glass and woodwork pieces.

We’ve been a bit quiet on the blog front but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been busy. This past year we also took part in the Chomp & Stomp festival in Cabbagetown in the autumn, the Holiday Market at Spruill Gallery in Dunwoody, and in the members’ arts market at The Joe Center for the Arts in Port St Joe, Florida.

And something else we’ve been working on….

We were thrilled to be commissioned by The Carter Center to produce bags using fabric that celebrates the Center’s work on eradicating trachoma eye disease and guinea worm disease. It’s been such a privilege to collaborate with The Carter Center on this project. The Center’s motto is Waging Peace, Fighting Disease, Building Hope – powerful, inspiring words for these difficult times.

Thanks for all your support this year! We appreciate you!
